The Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) has awarded The Beacon a Silver Crown. The Crown Awards “are the highest recognition given by the CSPA to a student print or digital medium for overall excellence,” according to the CSPA website.
The ceremony was streamed live, and featured an audio recording by current Beacon Editor-in-Chief Austin De Dios:

UPDATE: In Fall 2022, Ben became an NFL reporter for Fox Sports, covering the AFC South.
Ben Arthur, 2016-17 Beacon Sports Editor covers the NFL, specifically the Tennessee Titans for The Tennessean newspaper in Nashville.
Ben recently joined a newsroom Zoom meeting to talk about his career path from The Beacon to his internships (KOIN TV and Denver Post), and his jobs at a the Laredo Morning Times in Laredo, Texas, followed by a stint covering the Seahawks and other sports for the Seattle PI and now the Tennessean.
